Rules
For all rules refer to the official USA Hockey
Inline Rules book. An official book is available upon a request at the
Cage Hockey office.
Regular
Season
A season will consist of 10 games for all teams. The top 4 teams in
a division will make the playoffs. Regular season games will be 2 -
25 minute running time periods, 5-minute warm-up and 1 minute intermission.
Teams must have a minimum of 4 skaters and a goalie dressed and ready
to play by the end of the 5-minute warm-up or the game will be a forfeit.
There will be stop time in the last 2 minutes of the 2nd period if the
score is with-in 2 goals or less. If the score of the game is tied at
the expiration of regulation time, the game will end in a tie for regular
season games.
Team
Standings
A
team will receive 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points
for a loss. A team's total points will determine where they place in
the division standings and for playoffs.

Standings
The player with the most total points, goals and assists, will win a free season for the following season. If the free season is not used the following season then the player loses his or her free season. The free season cannot be "saved" for later use. The free season cannot be transferred to another player. The free season can be used towards the winning players team fee of the team that the player is playing on the following season.

Breakers for Individual Standings
Tie
Breakers for individual standings :
1st - The most total points ( goals and assists)
2nd -The most goals
3rd - Shootout - There will be a one round shootout. To be fair, both players will shoot on the same goalie from a neutral team selected by the manegment. Each player will have three shots within the round to determine a winner. Who ever gets more goals within the three shots will be determined the winner. If there is no winner at the end of the three shots then each player will take turns shooting one shot each until one player is declared a winner.
Playoffs
The
playoffs will be played the week following the last game on the same
night as all of that division's regular season games. Game 1 of the
semi finals will be first place will play fourth place and game 2 will
be second place will play third place. This will be followed by the
championship game being the winner of game 1 will play the winner of
game 2. For the playoffs no games will end in a tie. All games will
be played until a winner is declared. If the score of a game is tied
at the end of the regulation game time then a there will be a 5-minute
sudden death over time period. The first team to score a goal is the
winner. If there is no winner after the 5-minute overtime then there
will be a best of three shoot out. If there is still no winner after
the 3 player shoot out then each team will take turns supplying one
shooter per team to shoot until one team is declared a winner. During
the shoot out no player can shoot a second time until all players on
the bench have had turn in the shoot out.
Divisions
Players
will not be allowed to play for more than one team in a division. Players
may be permitted to play in 2 divisions as long as they are only one
division apart and playing a level up from the division that they are
currently playing in (ie. A silver player may play gold or a bronze
player may play silver.) If the league feels that a player is to advanced
for a lower level team then the lower level team may be bumped up to
a higher division after adding such a player or the individual advanced
player(s) can choose to play for a team in a higher division.
Team
Rosters
After 2 games are completed, final rosters will be closed. No additional
players will be allowed to be added or permitted to play for that team
other than players on the roster. For any player to play in the playoffs
he/she must be on the team roster sheet and must have played in a minimum
of three games during that season. All players, including substitute
players, and coaches on a team roster must be registered with USA Hockey
In-line. Cost for the year is $30.00.
Substitute
Players
A team may be allowed to use a substitute player if that player is on
the final roster handed in to management, presents a current USA Hockey
Inline number to the office at the time of the game and all player/team
fees are paid in full for the team that they are playing on. Only one
substitute player may be listed per team roster. A substitue player
must report to the office every time he/she plays in a game to be recorded
as playing in a game. A substitue player must play in a minimum of three
games to be eligable to play in the playoffs. No more than one substitute
players will be allowed in any one game for any team. Only one substitute
player will be allowed on a team bench through out the playoffs. It
must be the same substitute player for the duration of the playoff series.
The substitute player must have a matching jersey with a permanent number
on the back for any game he or she wishes to participate in.
If a team
is does not have enough players to play a game and is requesting to
use a non rostered substitute player then 1) the player's skill level
must be approved by management and 2) the opposing team must approve
of the substitution. If the opposing team does not approve of the substitue
player and the requesting team cannot dress enough players to start
a game then the game will be forfeited.
Illegal
Roster Challenge
If a team is challenged for having a non-roster
player actively playing in a game and found guilty of the charge, the
game will be stopped and they will immediately lose the game by forfeit.
If
a team challenges another team for having a non roster player in the
game but the player is on the team roster and rightfully in the game
then the team making the challenge will be charged with a two minute
delay of game penalty to be served by a player on the floor at the time
of the challenge.
Team
Jerseys
All teams will be required to wear matching jerseys
with a minimum 10" number displayed on the back. Jersey's must cover
all pads. It is recommended that each team have a white and a dark jersey
with the same number on it (for stat purposes) in case another team
has the same color dark jersey. Whichever team is the home team on the
schedule will have the choice to wear light or dark.
Player
Stats
Player stats will be posted on the web site at
the "Leagues" link. Teams are responsible for submitting the correct
player to the number that will be used for stat purposes. It is important
to have the correct number on the back of both the white and dark jerseys
all season long to make sure a player gets credit for their goals or
assists in the stats. Once score sheets are handed into the office all
stats are final. In each division the player with the most total points
will win a free season of hockey. This must be used towards the next
season after he or she wins. Please see "Individual Standings"
above for further details.
Penalties
Any one player that receives 3 penalties in a
single game he/she will be ejected for the remainder of that game at
the time of his/her third penalty is called. If the same player is ejected
three times in a season, including playoffs, for this reason that player
will receive an additional one game suspension.
